Friends and Servants of God!

One of our friends at Church is Kevin Chalupka. He works at Samaritan's Purse and invited us to come visit and tour the ministry. It was such an amazing day! God is so good! When we were done with the tour I came away humbled and feeling a little guilty for the things I complain and whine about on a daily basis. Franklin Graham is being used by God and has done an amazing job investing in others. Thank you Samaritan's Purse for all you do to help reach this world for Christ!

Servant Leadership

Servant Leadership is the example Jesus Christ gives us to follow. If you want to be first you must be last. Whatever you do to the least of these you do unto me. Love your neighbor as yourself. This concept is not new but it is hard to actually do in day to day life. I strive in my personal life to live this way and always fond myself coming up short.

Karl Bastian the Kidologist does this constantly. Kidology alone is a place to serve Children's Ministers. Karl all the time is seeking to place others first, helping their ministry and helping others grow spiritually. The Kidologist is one of a kind and it is an honor to have him as a friend. If you do not know about Kidology check it out at

Take time to invest in those around you and serve others!

Word of Life

Boys and girls have been bringing in money to Olympians on Wednesday nights. We were trying to help Brian Baker and his ministry with Word of Life. Well the girls beat the boys in this wonderful contest. The only problem is that I got a by in my face for the effort!

Zip for kids

I found out about this product at the Children's Pastors Conference. LifeWay has created a product that allows leaders to make large group and small group lesson plans for up to 10 weeks with ease. It is easy to use and allows you to pull material together quickly. When you lessons are complete it also places in them a time of length for each section and a time for the whole lesson. This will make any camp, summer program, backyard Bible club la breeze to plan.

Here are the cons: There is no one program just to plug everything into. The product comes with an essentials pack. In the pack you have a disc for every week. It is set up that for that week you need that disc to run the program from. So for this to work you need all the discs with you at all times. Also you have to use that weeks program for that week but you can add the different elements in with the Bible story. When you are done it pulls all the content and pages needed together. You can also get different packs to help supplement the essentials.

Pros: It does allow you to edit and add in your own material to the lesson plan. Zip also allows you on a Mac (I have not tested a PC) to copy and paste the disc on your computer and run without the disc. I am impressed by this program and can not wait to put it into action for summer camps and midweek activities. Check it out and see what you think!

Disney introduces Gay Couple

Brian Dollar is a children's minister that posted about this subject last week. Durring this week I have heard several comments about what Disney has done. You can click below to see the article of Brian's on Kidzmatter below:

Parents, Ministers and friends here is what needs to be done about the situation. We have to get involved in our children's lives in school, sports, church and television. Also we have to start discipling our children better in God's word the Bible so when a sinful world targets kids or christian families we have a firm foundation to stand on. Relate to our children:

Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Then we need to teacher our children that the good in the world comes from God. When they are saved they are the witnesses and lights to make a difference in a dark world. Matthew 5 says it best:

Matthew 5:14-16
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
We have to teach our children to go from being dependent on us to being dependent on God. Don't go crazy on Disney but be focused on your children and teaching about sin and forgiveness. Be direct and clear about what God wants not what we want. Let's instill in our children the living Word of God while they are young and when they grow old they will not depart from it.

Mentors and Friends

In ministry networking seems to be the hot topic. I feel that it goes deeper than that. Friendships are more  important to me than just networking. I have had the chance to work with several ministries and people throughout the years. There are more to mention than these but these individuals special to me. They have kept in contact with me, wanted to know what God is leading me through and have been inspiring, encouraging, and strong mentors in the faith for me.

Thank you guys for your ministry and faith in God!
